Red-eyed tree frogs come from the rain forests of Costa Rica in Central America. These are definitely one of the most beautiful species of frogs. Red-eyed tree frogs are nocturnal, that's why their eyes are red; the color helps them see at night. At night they come out and climb around searching for bugs and insects to eat for dinner.
Red-eyed tree frogs primarily eat soft-bodied invertebrates. In captivity they can be fed a diet that consists mainly of crickets. The call of the red-eyed tree frog sounds more like a baby rattle than a frog.
